Santa Barbara High School Alumni Association
Scholarship Program
In its' first year (1975-1976) the Association awarded two
$150 grants to Santa Barbara High School seniors. From that
point on, the scholarship program has grown exponentially.
As of May 2003, we have awarded nearly $372,465.00 in scholarships.
Current scholarships are worth $1000.
Our scholarships fall into two categories: Perpetual (minimum
of $5,000 to start) and non-perpetual (minimum of $250 to
start). Some of the perpetual scholarships yield enough for
a full $1000 scholarship each year. The non-perpetual scholarships
exist in smaller amounts.
The scholarships honor former teachers or coaches (Schutte,
Moropoulos, Brubeck, Myers, Keeter/Poteet and Perry). Several
scholarships focus on vocational students (Aylesworth and
Class of '62).
We also have two "generic" Alumni Association scholarships:
the Alumni Memorial Scholarship and the Alumni Scholarship
Fund. These funds are sustained by the generous contributions
of alumni in memory of deceased classmates or faculty and
staff members.
We welcome your donations and would be pleased to structure
a scholarship for you. For further information, or to make
